Africa-focused UNU projects

The United Nations University (UNU) is currently engaged in over 50 projects focused on Africa. Please find below a list of Africa-focused UNU projects. [Stocktaking: October 2011]

  1. African Graduate Nutrition Students Network (AGSNet)

    The purpose of the network is to provide a forum for effective collaboration among African graduate students in Nutrition worldwide, and also among professionals interested in the promotion and enhancement of better nutrition in Africa.

  2. African Nutrition Leadership Programme (ANLP)

    ANLP is a leadership development and networking seminar aimed at assisting the development of future leaders in the field of human nutrition in Africa. Emphasis is placed on understanding the qualities and skills of leaders, team building, communication and nutrition information in a broader context, and to understanding the role of nutrition science in the world around us.

  3. Foreign Aid: Research and Communication (ReCom)

    The main objectives of this project are to (i) reveal what works and what is achieved within development assistance, and (ii) communicate this to the wider public.

  4. Knowledge, Attitudes, Practices and Empowerment (KAPE)

    Understanding knowledge, attitudes and practices around water and sanitation and raising awareness about the linkages between water, environment and health in order to empower communities to be able to address their own water-related challenges.

  5. Master of Public Health (Hospital Management)

    The MPH programme is building human resource capacity that will have a lasting positive impact on the healthcare system of Sudan.
